How do I additionally setup VCN-CommCenter 8.0 in a same computer signed in Windows with a different user account as well?

 To use VCN-CommCenter 8.0 in a same computer with multiple Windows user accounts, in the beginning, sign in Windows with the first user account and complete to install both the client digital certificate and software (e-Parcel VCN-CommCenter) as usual. Please be sure that you must choose the "Anyone who uses this computer (all users)" button on the InstallShield Wizard for the software installation with the first Windows user account.

* Note: The software installation must be executed only once in a same computer when you sign in Windows with the first user account.

Next, sign in Windows with another user account and install (import) only the client digital certificate in Windows. Then, launch the existing VCN-CommCenter 8.0 and auto-setup.

You can NOT double-start VCN-CommCenter 8.0 in one computer. [required reading!!]

 How to install when sign in Windows with the first user account (with "user account A") 

1. The first Windows user account (hereinafter referred to as the "user account A")

   * Install the client software only once in a computer when sign in Windows with the first user account A.

2. 1. Start a computer and then sign in Windows with "user account A".

3. 2. Let's begin to install both the client digital certificate and e-Parcel VCN-CommCenter with "user account A".

   Click the button just below to start the procedures. (STEP 1～6 on the webpage)

   The detailed instructions will be shown in figures at each step after login to the e-Parcel download site.

   * At STEP 4, when installing (importing) the digital certificate in Windows, you must sign in Windows with a user account which runs the e-Parcel client software.

   

4. 3. Follow the instruction of STEP 1～6 on the Web "e-Parcel software download site".

   * Attention: At STEP4, when the "Certificate Import Wizard" will show a password required window while installation of client digital certificate, you must place a check in the box "Mark this key as exportable. This will allow you to back up or transport your keys at a later time." (* If you forget to place a check here, you will NOT proceed to auto-setup a client digital certificate on the e-Parcel software later.)

5. 4. At STEP6, let's begin to install the client software.

   * In the case of using VCN-CommCenter 8.0 in a same computer with multiple Windows user accounts, if you change the following ①folder and ②folder (Database: \db · Data storage: \data) to the different folders for installation, please be sure that multiple Windows user accounts must hold permissions to "Modify" the folders changed.
   ①Destination folder as initial location: C:\Program Files\e-Parcel\VCN-CommCenter 8.0
   ②Database and Data storage folder as initial location: C:\e-Parcel\VCN-CommCenter

   * Attention: At STEP6, when the InstallShield Wizard "Ready to Install the Program" will show two buttons "Anyone who uses this computer (All users)" and "Only for me (user account A)" for installation of the client software, you must choose the "Anyone who uses this computer (All users)" to begin installation.

6. 5. When software installation complete, the "Install Shield Wizard Completed" dialog appears. Confirm that the "Launch the program" box must be placed a check, and then click the "Finish" button.

7. 6. The auto-setup function of e-Parcel VCN-CommCenter will begin.

   * At this time, if the "Select a Certificate" dialog appears, carefully select a client certificate of your e-Parcel ID. Then, click the "OK" button to begin auto-setup.
   [For Windows 10 or later] Click "More choices" on the "Select a Certificate" dialog to view all certificates. Then, select one.

   The e-Parcel client software is automatically configured to detect your certificate and network settings from Windows.

   * If your network is set proxy server that requires user authentication, a "Proxy Authentication Required" dialog must appear. Enter your proxy user name and password and click the "OK" button to authenticate. If you forget your proxy user name and password to authenticate, obtain the appropriate information to ask a network administrator in your company.

   * Additionally, if using the proxy server with NTLM or Integrated Windows Authentication, leave blank in all fields of authentication information (User name, Password, Remember…) in the "Proxy Authentication Required" dialog. Then, click the "OK" button. (Therefore, when it is not given any proxy credentials, Windows Single Sign On function will work to apply Windows user account name and password for authentication automatically. However, if you run the previous version 7.0.7012 or earlier, your "Windows user account name@domain" as a user name and password are required to input.)

8. 7. When auto-setup complete, it will display new folder tree of your e-Parcel ID (Client digital certificate) on the left side of VCN-CommCenter GUI.

   Once "Online" is shown on the bottom-right of GUI, it's successfully running.

   * If the status is "Offline" on the bottom-right of the VCN-CommCenter GUI, refer to this Q&A page and check carefully.

9. 8. The e-Parcel client software is ready for use with "user account A".

   You must exit (shutdown) VCN-CommCenter. Select the menu "File" > "Exit" on the VCN-CommCenter GUI.

   * Note: Please be sure that double-start of the application is NOT available in a same computer when you use VCN-CommCenter 8.0 with multiple Windows user accounts.

10. 9. After VCN-CommCenter shutdown, sign out Windows with "user account A".

    * One e-Parcel ID is NOT available to use in the multiple computers. One e-Parcel ID must be setup on the e-Parcel client software in only one computer.

1. The second Windows user account (hereinafter referred to as the "user account B")

   * Install only the client certificate to just auto-setup the existing software in a same computer with the second Windows user account B and more.

2. 1. In a same computer, sign in Windows with "user account B".

3. 2. Let's begin to install only the client digital certificate in Windows with "user account B".

   Click the button just below to start the procedures.

   * When installing (importing) the digital certificate in Windows, you must sign in Windows with a user account which runs the e-Parcel client software.

   

4. 3. The [STEP1. Login] page: input e-Parcel ID and password, and then click the "Login" button.

   * When login to the site, you must input an e-Parcel ID used at the time of sign in Windows with "user account B". Both e-Parcel ID same as "user account A" and another e-Parcel ID are available to setup the client digital certificate in the case of a same computer.

   * At this time, if the "Select a Certificate" dialog appears, carefully select a client certificate of your e-Parcel ID. Then, click the "OK" button to begin auto-setup.
