Question? How do I replace the digital certificate? (The update procedures)

Answer To replace the previous digital certificate with new one, remove old certificate, import new certificate in OS (Microsoft Windows), and then auto-setup on the e-Parcel software. For more details, take the procedures below.

1 Remove the previous digital certificate from Windows
  1. First, on your computer, remove the previous client digital certificate installed (imported) in OS (Microsoft Windows). Take the procedures below.

  2. 1. To remove a certificate using the Windows interface, select the Windows "Start" menu > Windows System
    > Control Panel > Network and Internet > "Internet Options".

    The "Internet Properties (Internet Options)" dialog is opened. Select the "Content" tab and then click the "Certificates" button in the Certificates category.

    Launch Microsoft Edge. On the upper-right of Toolbar, click […] (Settings and more) > Settings (gear mark) > Privacy, search, services > Security > Manage certificates

  3. 2. The "Certificates" dialog is opened. Select the "Personal" tab and find out your client digital certificate listed.

            The "Issued To" column: Your e-Parcel ID

            The "Issued By" column: e-Parcel Global Service Authority

            The "Expiration Date" column: 12/31/2019(UTC)  ·  1/1/2020(JST)

    * If your digital certificate is valid to date above, the previous digital certificate is being used. Accessing the URL of the "e-Parcel Secure Enterprise - Web Browser" will not be available after the expiration date when you edit user information or change password. So, for the extension of validity period, you are required to replace the digital certificate (the update procedures). However, it doesn't affect any data delivery through the e-Parcel software. The service on software will be available as usual.

    * When to replace the digital certificate is required along with your e-parcel ID changed, select one of the previous e-Parcel ID regardless of the expiration date.

  4. 3. When selected carefully, click the "Remove" button. If the "Certificates" dialog shows warning, choose "Yes" to execute.

  5. 4. To close dialog, click the "Close" button on the "Certificates" dialog and the "OK" button on the "Internet Options" dialog.

2 Install new digital certificate in Windows
  1. Next, download and install (import) your new client digital certificate in Windows.

  1. 1. Click the button just below to start the procedures.

    * The detailed instructions of each step will be shown in figures at the "Download Client Certificates" page of this site.

    * When installing (importing) the digital certificate in Windows, you must sign in Windows with a user account which runs the e-Parcel client software.

  2. 2. The [STEP1. Login] page: Type your e-Parcel ID and password, and then click the "Login" button.

  3. 3. The [STEP2. Select software] Page: Select one of the e-Parcel client software appropriately.

  4. 4. The [STEP3. Check the security of …] page: When you confirm the security of this site which is being visited, click the "Next" button.

  5. 5. The [STEP4. Download and install the digital certificate] Page: Click the "Download" button, and then select the "Open" a file.

    On the STEP4, to import the digital certificate, carefully read the "Instruction for installing Client Digital Certificate" in figures.

    * Attention: While the "Certificate Import Wizard", when it requires the password (the figure below), be sure to place a check in the "Mark this key as exportable ..." checkbox.
    (If do not, you will fail in auto-setup on the e-Parcel software at later STEP6.)

  1. On the STEP4, when you finish the "Certificate Import Wizard", click the "Next" button on the bottom.

  2. 6. The [STEP5. Access the URL of …] page: When you succeed in accessing URL of the "e-Parcel Secure Enterprise - Web Browser", click the "Next" button.

  3. 7. The [STEP6. Auto-setup the e-Parcel client software] Page: Proceed to auto-setup the e-Parcel client software to detect the digital certificate installed in Windows.

    * At the beginning of auto-setup, if the "Confirm Certificate" or the "Select a Certificate" dialog appears, confirm your e-Parcel ID and validity period, select a correct digital certificate, and then click the "OK" button to begin the auto-setup.
    [For Windows 10 or later] Click "More choices" on the "Select a Certificate" dialog to view all certificates. Then, select one.

    [For e-Parcel VCN-CommCenter 7.0 or later]

    To start the software, double-click the "e-Parcel x.x" shortcut icon on the desktop.

    Select the menu "Tools" > "Auto Setup" on the VCN-CommCenter GUI.

    [For e-Parcel VCN-AX 4.0 or later]

    On Windows taskbar, in the notification area, right-click the e-Parcel icon, then select "Auto Setup" from pop-up menu.

    * For Windows 10 or later: If Windows does not show the e-Parcel icon in the notification area on the taskbar, right-click on the taskbar, then select "Taskbar settings" from menu. (Or, select the Windows "Start" menu > Windows System > Control Panel > Appearance and Personalization > Taskbar and Navigation) On the Settings "Taskbar" window, under "Notifications Area", click "Select which icons appear on the taskbar". The icons list is displayed. Turn on the "VCN-AX Manager x.x" toggle to apply change to "On".

    * For Windows 8 or earlier: If Windows does not show the e-Parcel icon in the notification area on the taskbar, click the arrow next to the notification area on the taskbar. (Or, select the Windows "Start" menu > Control Panel > Appearance and Personalization > "Customize icons on the taskbar") On the "Notifications Area Icons" dialog, change the "VCN-AX Manager x.x" to "Show icon and notifications" as the behavior.

  4. 8. When auto-setup complete, confirm that the status is "Online" on the e-Parcel client software.

    (For VCN-AX, if Windows does not start the service "e-Parcel VCN-AX x.x", restart the service using the Windows interface.)

  5. You have done successfully to replace the digital certificate (the update procedures).
