Question? During the installation of the e-Parcel client certificate, when the Certificate Import Wizard shows "Completing the Certificate Import Wizard" to complete by the "Finish" button, I have failed in the certificate installation with the error message dialog shown. (For example of error message: "An error occurred during the addition of a certificate to the Trusted Root Certification Authorities store.")

Answer It happens often that the local security policy or domain security policy of your company may not allow the certificate installation on Windows or web browser.

In case of the above example error message, it seems that you are not allowed to import Root CA certificate by the local security policy or domain security policy of your company.

If Certificate Import Wizard shows any error to be failed, would you please firstly consult your company's network administrator?

* For your convenience, please refer to this Q&A page which shows the correct settings "Certificates" of Internet Explorer when installation of the e-Parcel client digital certificate has succeeded on Windows.

* Please note that you can not access the URL of "The e-Parcel Secure Enterprise - Web Browser" without installing your client digital certificate on Windows. (The "User Info" menu on that site is not available to view and edit user information.)

However you may have some difficulty to change the security policy of you. To get started the e-Parcel software, we show you another procedure (manual setup) which the software directly imports your certificate instead auto setup. Please be sure to read the followings and then take one of the procedures.

A. In the case that you have not installed VCN-CommCenter 7.0 yet, select the procedure A below.

* The procedure A instructs you in how to install VCN-CommCenter 7.0 and then manually import your client digital certificate.

B. In the case that you already have installed VCN-CommCenter 7.0, select the procedure B below.

* The procedure B instructs you in how to manually import your client digital certificate on the VCN-CommCenter 7.0.

C. In the case that you have not installed VCN-AX 4.5/4.0 yet, select the procedure C below.

* The procedure C instructs you in how to install VCN-AX 4.5/4.0 and then manually import your client digital certificate.

Procedure A: For customers who have not installed VCN-CommCenter 7.0 yet

Procedure Procedure A Procedure How to install VCN-CommCenter 7.0 & import client digital certificate 
  1. In this procedure, firstly download (save) your client digital certificate on your computer in advance, and then install the client software; VCN-CommCenter 7.0. At the end, directly import your certificate on VCN-CommCenter 7.0. (Manual setup)

    * If you are reading this Q&A page during "STEP4. Download & Install…" instructed on this site, start from no.4 below of this procedure.

  2. 1. Start your computer and then logon to Windows.

  3. 2. Visit the URL for "the e-Parcel Secure Enterprise - Software Download Site".

    URL (This web site):https://www.e-parcel.ne.jp/

    Click the menu "Download & Install Software". See the page appeared and then click the "Download e-Parcel Software" button.

  4. 3. Follow the instruction of STEP 1~3 on the web site.

    (* On STEP 1~3, the procedures are same as usual.)

  5. 4. On STEP 4, click the "Download" button for your client digital certificate. When your web browser prompts you for what to do with the file, be sure to select "Save" it to desktop etc. of your computer where is easy to find.

    (* In this case, don't select "Open" because you do not need to install client certificate on Windows.)

    Click the "Next" button on the bottom of STEP 4 page.

  6. 5. Skip the instruction of STEP 5 on the web site.

    Just click the "Next" button on the bottom of STEP 5 page.

  7. 6. To download and install the client software, follow the instruction of STEP 6 on the web site.

    Attention: During installing the client software on the instruction of STEP 6, when the InstallShield Wizard shows message "InstallShield Wizard Completed", set unchecked (off) in the check box "Launch the program". When you are sure to set unchecked, click the "Finish" button.

    * If you forget to delete a check and then finish, the Warning "Client certificate not found. It may not have been imported yet." dialog may appear. Click the "OK" button to close.

  8. 7. Let's begin to directly import your certificate on the client software.

    Access the Windows Start menu > All Programs > e-Parcel > VCN-CommCenter 7.0 > Import Certificate.

  9. 8. The "Certificate" dialog appears to select a file.

    Locate a file of your certificate saved in your computer at previous no.4 and then click the "Open" button to import. File name of e-Parcel client digital certificate must be "e-Parcel_ [your e-Parcel ID].p12".

  10. 9. The "Password" Required dialog appears. Input your password and then click the "OK" button.

    (* This password must be same as the password which you login to this e-Parcel download site.)

  11. 10. The message "Setup is Starting" appears while your certificate is being configured for the client software.

    (Once a certificate has completed to be imported, a file of certificate will automatically be deleted.)

    * If your network is set the proxy server that requires user authentication, the "Proxy Authentication Required" dialog will appear. Input your proxy user name and password and then click the "OK" button to authenticate. If you forget your proxy user name and password to authenticate, contact your company's network administrator to obtain the correct information.

    * Additionally, if using NTLM proxy-authorization, set blank in all fields of authentication information (User name, Password, Remember…) of the "Proxy Authentication Required" dialog. Then click the "OK" button. (Therefore VCN-CommCenter 7.0 provides the function to automatically detect Windows logon user account name and password for NTLM proxy authentication if it is not given any authentication info. However, if you run the previous version 7.0.7012 or lower, a "Windows logon user account name@domain" as user name and password must be required to input.)

  12. 11. Restart the VCN-CommCenter 7.0.

    To exit (shutdown) the VCN-CommCenter 7.0, access the menu File > Exit on the VCN-CommCenter GUI.

    To launch the VCN-CommCenter 7.0, double-click the "e-Parcel 7.0" shortcut icon on the desktop.

  13. 12. When "Online" is displayed on the bottom-right of the VCN-CommCenter GUI, it's successfully running.

    The e-Parcel client software is ready for use.

    * If the status is "Offline" on the bottom-right of the VCN-CommCenter GUI, refer to this Q&A page and check carefully.

  2. 1. Please be sure that the e-Parcel VCN-AX 4.5/4.0 must require the license count (address count) which we register for use in advance. Upon downloading, confirm whether this software is appropriate for the contract.

  3. 2. Visit the URL for "the e-Parcel Secure Enterprise - Software Download Site".

    Click the menu "Download & Install Software". See the page appeared and then click the "Download e-Parcel Software" button.

    Attention: When installing the client software on the instruction of STEP 6, while the InstallShield Wizard is showing message "Installing e-Parcel VCN-AX 4.5/4.0", the Warning "Client certificate not found. It may not have been imported yet." dialog appears. Click the "OK" button to close. The VCN-AX service and VCN-AX Manager get staerted. (However the VCN-AX is not working because setup has not been done yet. You need to manually setup later at the procedure blow.)

    When installation complete, the InstallShield Wizard shows message "InstallShield Wizard Completed". Click the "Finish" button to exit.

  8. 7. Let's begin to directly import your certificate on the client software. (Starting manual setup)

    Double-click the "VCN-AX 4.5" or "VCN-AX 4.0" shortcut icon on the desktop.

  9. 8. On your browser, the VCN-AX 4.5/4.0 Management Console opens in new window for the "Setup".

    In the upper field "Certificate File", click the "Browse…" button.

    Choose a file of your certificate saved at previous no.4 and then click the "Open" button to import.

    File name of e-Parcel client digital certificate must be "e-Parcel_ [your e-Parcel ID].p12".

    In the lower field "Password", input your password and then click the "Import" button.

    (* This password must be same as the password which you login to this e-Parcel download site.)

  10. 9. The "Setup Option" window appears.

    If your network is set the proxy server and the proxy server requires user authentication, input the proxy server information of your company in each field (Host name, Port number etc.) and then click the "Setup" button.

    * If you forget the proxy server information, your proxy user name and password to authenticate as needed, contact your company's network administrator to obtain the correct information.

    * Additionally, if using NTLM proxy-authorization, input a "Windows logon user account name@domain" as a user name and password in the fields of authentication information (User name, Password). Then click the "Setup" button.

    (However, when the message "Proxy Authentication Failed / Proxy Authentication Rejected" or the "Proxy Authentication Required" dialog appears, you might input wrong proxy user name and password. Confirm your authentication information and input again. The correct user name and password must be required to authenticate.)

  11. 10. Waite a few seconds while setup processing.

    When setup complete, the VCN-AX 4.5/4.0 Management Console shows the "(Authentication) Credential" window.

    When "Online" is shown in the "System Status" field, it's successfully running.

    The e-Parcel service is ready for use.

    * If "Offline", "Proxy Authentication Failed" or any other error status is shown in the "System Status" field, refer to this Q&A page and check carefully.
