How do I update the e-Parcel client software?
You can download the latest version of the e-Parcel client software from the "Download & Install Software" page of this site. (Or, click the button below on this webpage.) The following steps will guide you in updating the e-Parcel client software.
* Note that you should operate the procedures below introduced in this webpage in the case of updating the same client software using the same e-Parcel ID in the same computer continuously as well. (What's the same client software?: VCN-CommCenter 7.0 / 8.0 users→ver.8.0, VCN-AX 6.0 users →ver.6.0)
* For VCN-AX ver. 5.0 / 4.0 users, simply updating from the existing VCN-AX ver. 5.0 / 4.0 to ver. 6.0 (upgrade version) is NOT available. If you wish to use ver.6.0, please newly install and configure in a computer. Refer to the e-Parcel VCN-AX 6.0 Quick Guide in detail.
* For your information, if the existing VCN-AX ver.4.0 users change to ver.6.0 (upgrade version), unless there is some particular reason, we recommend the operation procedures for just newly installing VCN-AX 6.0 and reconfiguring. (In regards to the migration of the existing configurations and the inbox/outbox histories from VCN-AX ver.4.0 to ver.6.0 in the same computer continuously as well, please note that the performance is not completely guaranteed. We are afraid that any problem caused by the migration is not included in our customer support. Hereafter, you are responsible for operating the migration procedures introduced in the followings. Before starting the operations described below in this webpage, uninstall (delete) the existing VCN-AX 4.0. And furthermore, you must remember to rename a parent folder including "Database folder (\db) & Data folder (\data)" from [C:\e-Parcel\VCN-AX 4.0] to [C:\e-Parcel\VCN-AX 6.0]. Then, start the operations below to install VCN-AX 6.0.)
* Attention: Customers who use VCN-AX 5.0, note that you do NOT install VCN-AX ver.5.0 and ver.6.0 to a same computer. If the existing VCN-AX ver.5.0 users change to ver.6.0 (upgrade version), unless there is some particular reason, we recommend the operation procedures for just newly installing VCN-AX 6.0 and reconfiguring after uninstall (delete) the existing VCN-AX 5.0. (In regards to the migration of the existing configurations and the inbox/outbox histories from VCN-AX ver.5.0 to ver.6.0 in the same computer continuously as well, please note that the performance is not completely guaranteed. We are afraid that any problem caused by the migration is not included in our customer support. * In the case of replacing the computer with a new one, please newly install the e-Parcel client software and configure in a new computer. In that case, take the operation procedures introduced in the next Q&A page. In addition, note that you should uninstall (delete) the existing software from the previous computer. *Attention: The e-Parcel service has adopted the client digital certificate for mutual recognition between the server and a client. (Authentication) Therefore, one e-Parcel ID is NOT available to use in the multiple computers. One e-Parcel ID must be set up to the e-Parcel client software in only one computer. The details are described in the next Q&A page. In Old PC, select the Windows "Start" menu > e-Parcel > Uninstall VCN-xxxxx *For Windows 8 or earlier: Select the Windows "Start" menu > All Programs > e-Parcel > [software name] > Uninstall VCN-xxxxx
* Attention: Customers who use VCN-AX 5.0 / 4.0, updating from the existing ver. 5.0 / 4.0 to ver. 6.0 (upgrade version) is NOT available. We are afraid that you cannot simply recover the previous configurations and the inbox/outbox histories of the existing ver. 5.0 / 4.0 in a new computer. In the case of replacing the computer with a new one, please newly install ver. 6.0 and configure to a new computer. Take the operation procedures introduced in the next Q&A page. Or, refer to the e-Parcel VCN-AX 6.0 Quick Guide in detail.
Start a computer in which the existing e-Parcel client software runs.
Let's install the latest version of the e-Parcel client software.
* In the case of updating the same client software using the same e-Parcel ID in the same computer continuously, you don't need to install (import) your client digital certificate (SHA2) again in Windows. Because you have already done that when starting the e-Parcel service.
* Attention: Please be advised that you should start the following procedures after uploading and downloading data have been confirmed on the e-Parcel software in a computer.
1. Click the button just below to start the procedures. (STEP 1~3 & 6 on the webpage)
The detailed instructions will be shown in figures at each step after login to the e-Parcel download site.
2. On STEP 1 page, login with your e-Parcel ID and password.
3. On STEP 2 page, select the same client software as before, and then click Next.
* Note that you must carefully select the same client software as before (VCN-CommCenter 7.0/8.0 users→ver.8.0, VCN-AX 6.0 users →ver.6.0). * Attention: VCN-AX 5.0/4.0 users, simply updating to ver. 6.0 is NOT available.
4. On STEP 3 page, check the security of this site and then click Next.
* STEP 4 operation is Not required if you have already done using the same e-Parcel ID in the same computer with the same Windows user account. Click Next to proceed to "STEP 6. Download Software" page.
5. (As needed) On STEP 4 page, click Download to open your client digital certificate and then install (import) in Windows by following the procedure.
* STEP 5 operation is Not required if you have already done using the same e-Parcel ID. Click Next to proceed to "STEP 6. Download Software" page.
6. (As needed) On STEP 5 page, visit the "e-Parcel Web Browser" to edit your user information and change a password.
7. On STEP 6 page, click Download to save the executable file for the latest version of the e-Parcel client software. If the browser prompts you for what to do with the file, select "Save".
8. On STEP 6 page, follow the [Instruction for installing e-Parcel Client Software] to begin the software installation.
Double-click the executable file in the download location to open.
Usually, when you double-click the executable file and follow the instruction, after automatically uninstalling the existing software*, the latest software installation will begin.

* While the existing software was being started, it may require your permission to automatically exit and restart the program in the beginning of installation. In that case, click OK to proceed the process. Upon automatically uninstalling the existing software, it will begin the latest software installation.
* If it doesn't automatically exit the program although you click OK according to the above, you need to exit it manually by the operation just below. Then, begin installing.
[For VCN-CommCenter 7.0 or later]
To exit VCN-CommCenter, select the VCN-CommCenter menu bar "File" > "Exit".
[For VCN-AX 4.0 or later]
①Stop the "Service" in the Windows interface.
* For Windows 10 or later, select the Windows "Start" menu > "Windows Administrative Tools" > "Service". In the Services pane, select the "e-Parcel VCN-AX 5.0/4.0" listed and then stop the service.
* For Windows 8 or earlier, select the Windows "Start" menu > "Control Panel" > "System and Security" > "Administrative Tools" > "Services". In the Services pane, select the "e-Parcel VCN-AX 5.0/4.0" listed and then stop the service.
② Exit the "VCN-AX Manager".
On Windows taskbar, in the notification area, right-click the icon "e-Parcel VCN-AX x.x" (grayed-out effect), then select "Exit" from pop-up menu.
* For Windows 10 or later: If Windows does not show the e-Parcel icon in the notification area on the taskbar, right-click on the taskbar, then select "Taskbar settings" from menu. (Or, select the Windows "Start" menu > Windows System > Control Panel > Appearance and Personalization > Taskbar and Navigation) On the Settings "Taskbar" window, under "Notifications Area", click "Select which icons appear on the taskbar". The icons list is displayed. Turn on the "VCN-AX Manager x.x" toggle to apply change to "On".
* For Windows 8 or earlier: If Windows does not show the e-Parcel icon in the notification area on the taskbar, click the arrow next to the notification area on the taskbar. (Or, selct the Windows "Start" menu > Control Panel > Appearance and Personalization > "Customize icons on the taskbar") On the "Notifications Area Icons" dialog, change the "VCN-AX Manager x.x" to "Show icon and notifications" as the behavior.
*Attention: Some users of e-Parcel VCN-CommCenter 8.0.8023
[About reinstalling software in a same computer]
Upon double-clicking the executable file downloaded (saved) to open, if InstallShield Wizard shows "… will allow you to modify, repair, or remove e-Parcel VCN-CommCenter 8.0. To continue, click Next.",
1. Click "Next" button to continue. Firstly, follow the removal procedures below through InstallShield Wizard. After uninstalling (removing) the existing software, you can begin to reinstall the latest software.
2. On [Program Maintenance], select "Remove" and click "Next" button.
3. On [Remove the Program], click "Remove" button to execute.
4. The "User Account Control (UAC)" dialog is shown. In the case of sign in Windows with an administrator account, select the "Yes (Allow)" button to allow. Or, in the case of sign in Windows with a standard account without the administrative privilege, an administrator account name (administrator ID) and password are required to input.
*If the existing software is running, before uninstalling (removing), InstallShield Wizard may show [Files in Use]. To continue, select the "Automatically close and attempt to restart applications." and click "OK" button.
5. Please wait while uninstalling (removing) the existing software.When "InstallShield Wizard Completed" is shown, click "Finish" button to exit.
6. Then, to reinstall the latest software, double-click the executable file again to begin and follow the instruction described on the web - STEP 6.
9. When installation finished, the latest e-Parcel client software automatically get started. Confirm that it should normally show the system status "Online".
* If the system status is "Offline", "Proxy Authentication Failed" or any other error status on the client software, refer to the next Q&A page and check carefully.
You complete to update the e-Parcel client software successfully.
