Question? After you finish installing the e-Parcel client software, the Error dialog "Import Certificate Failed" has appeared instead of auto-setup.

Answer You may install a previous version of client software; VCN-CommCenter 7.0.7014 or lower / VCN-AX 4.0.4005 or lower. We strongly recommend that our customers update their e-Parcel client software to the latest version.

For obtaining e-Parcel client digital certificates from this download site, the vastly more secure SHA2 signed digital certificates will be downloaded with initial choice (the "For new users" selected) instead of SHA1. Note that VCN-CommCenter 7.0.7015 or later / VCN-AX 4.0.4006 or later support SHA2 signed digital certificates.

The Procedure A below will guide you in updating client software. Uninstall (remove) the existing client software, install the latest client software, and then auto-setup (import) a client digital certificate (SHA2) of Windows (IE) to the client software. (Recommended)

Procedure A: Updating client software to the latest version (*Recommended)

     For users of VCN-CommCenter 7.0 or VCN-AX 4.0

Procedure B: If you use a previousrelease client software, only SHA1 certificate is available to previous versions.

* If there is difficulty to immediately update client software for any reason, choose this for more information.

Procedure A: Updating client software to the latest version (*Recommended)

[Users for previous versions; VCN-CommCenter 7.0.7014 or lower / VCN-AX 4.0.4005 or lower]

The following steps will guide you in updating client software. Uninstall (remove) the existing client software, install the latest client software, and then auto-setup (import) a client digital certificate (SHA2) of Windows (IE) to the client software.

1 Uninstalling the existing client software (Remove)
  1. 1. [ Users who are installing software for the first time ]
    Proceed to 2.

    [ Users who already use the e-Parcel service ]
    Note that you should start uninstalling the existing client software after data have been completed to upload and download. Once you make sure that, start the procedure from just below.

    For users of VCN-CommCenter 7.0: To shutdown VCN-CommCenter 7.0, access the VCN-CommCenter menu bar "File" > "Exit".

    For users of VCN-AX 4.0: To stop VCN-AX 4.0 service, Open the "Services" of the Windows interface. In the details pane, click "e-Parcel VCN-AX 4.0", and then click "Stop the service". Next, to exit the "VCN-AX 4.0 Manager", right-click the taskbar icon "e-Parcel VCN-AX 4.0", click "Exit".

  2. 2. Click "Start" of the Windows.

    For users of VCN-CommCenter 7.0: In "Start" of the Windows, click "All Programs" > "e-Parcel" > "VCN-CommCenter 7.0" > "Uninstall VCN-CommCenter 7.0".

    For users of VCN-AX 4.0: In "Start" of the Windows, click "All Programs" > "e-Parcel" > "VCN-AX 4.0" > "Uninstall VCN-AX 4.0".

  3. 3. A uninstall confirmation dialog appears prompting to either "Yes" or "No". Click "Yes" button to execute. Wait while uninstalling (remove) the client software.

  4. 4. Once uninstalling is complete, a dialog will close. Also, the shortcut icon on the desktop will be removed.

2 Install the latest client software
  1. In the next procedure, obtain the latest client software from e-Parcel web site to install.

  1. 1. Access your web browser; Windows Internet Explorer (IE). Visit the URL for the "e-Parcel software download site".

  2. 2. Click the menu "Download & Install Software". See the page appeared and then click the "Download e-Parcel Software" button.

  3. 3. The [STEP1. Login] page: Enter your e-Parcel ID and password and then click the "Login" button.

  4. 4. The [STEP2. Select your e-Parcel client software] Page: Select the appropriate e-Parcel software.

  5. 5. The [STEP3. Check the security of web site …] page: Confirm the security of web site which you are accessing now and then click the "Next" button.

  6. 6. The [STEP4. Download and install a client digital certificate] Page: Click the "Download" button to open.

    In the Client Digital Certificate field, make sure that the "For new users" is selected with initial choice, and then click the "Download" button. SHA2 signed digital certificate will be downloaded. Next, carefully read the STEP4. "Instruction for installing Client Digital Certificate" on the web site and then execute to install (import) it on Windows (IE).

    * If you have already done to install (import) a client digital certificate (SHA2) on Windows (IE), you don't need to take the procedure STEP4. Just click "Next" to proceed.

  7. 7. The [STEP5. Access the URL of e-Parcel Secure Enterprise - Web Browser …] page: Click the "e-Parcel Web Browser" button (Red) to access.

    A new window "e-Parcel Secure Enterprise - Web Browser" will be opened. Click the menu "User Info" to edit as needed.

    * If you have already done to access the "e-Parcel Secure Enterprise - Web Browser" and change password, you don't need to take the procedure STEP5. Just click "Next" to proceed.

  8. 8. The [STEP6. Download & Install e-Parcel Client Software] Page: Click the "Download" button to obtain the executable file for the latest client software.

    When your web browser prompts you for what to do with the file, select "Save" it to desktop etc. of your computer where is easy to find.

  9. 9. Carefully read the STEP6. "Instruction for installing e-Parcel Client Software" on the web site and then execute to install it.

  10. 10. When installation finished, the latest e-Parcel client software will automatically launch. Confirm that the status is "Online" on the client software.

    * If the status is "Offline", "Proxy Authentication Failed" or any other error status on the client software, refer to this Q&A page and check carefully.

  11. All procedures for updating client software are completed.

Procedure B: Exchanging with SHA1 signed digital certificate for previous versions of client software

[Auto-setup only for previous versions; VCN-CommCenter 7.0.7014 or lower / VCN-AX 4.0.4005 or lower]

If there is difficulty to immediately update client software on your computer for any reason,

the following steps will guide you in exchanging client certificate. Remove a client digital certificate (SHA2) from Windows (IE), download a client digital certificate (SHA1) for previous versions of client software, install it on Windows (IE) and then proceed to auto-setup (import) in client software.

* Recommendation for users of previous versions: Updating client software to the latest version is highly recommended.

1 Remove a client digital certificate from Windows (IE)
  1. 1. Access your web browser; Windows Internet Explorer (IE). Select the "Tools" > "Internet Options" from the menu bar.

  2. 2. An "Internet Options" dialog box appears. Select the "Content" tab and follow the Certificates field. Click the "Certificates" button.

  3. 3. A "Certificates" dialog box appears. Select the "Personal" tab and then find out your client digital certificate listed.

     · The "Issued To" field: Your e-Parcel ID

     · The "Issued By" field: e-Parcel Global Service Authority

  4. 4. Make sure that your client digital certificate is selected, and then click the "Remove" button to execute.

2 Re-install a client digital certificate on Windows (IE)
  1. In the next procedure, download and install (import) a client digital certificate on Windows (IE) again.

  1. 1. Access your web browser; Windows Internet Explorer (IE). Visit the URL for the "e-Parcel software download site".

  2. 2. Click the menu "e-Parcel Enterprise Service Menu". See the page appeared and then click the "Download Client Certificate" button.

  3. 3. The [STEP1. Login] page: Enter your e-Parcel ID and password and then click the "Login" button.

  4. 4. The [STEP2. Confirm your e-Parcel client software] Page: Select the appropriate e-Parcel software.

  5. 5. The [STEP3. Check the security of web site …] page: Confirm the security of web site which you are accessing now and then click the "Next" button.

  6. 6. The [STEP4. Download and install a client digital certificate] Page: Downloading a client digital certificate (SHA1) for previous versions of client software.

    * For users of previous versions (VCN-CommCenter 7.0.7014 or lower / VCN-AX 4.0.4005 or lower), change a choice to the lower "*If you use a previousrelease …" in the Client Digital Certificate field. To download, click the "Cert for previous versions" button appeared. SHA1 signed digital certificate will be downloaded.

  7. 7. Carefully read the STEP4. "Instruction for installing Client Digital Certificate" on the web site and then execute to install (import) it on Windows (IE).

    * Attention: When the "Certificate Import Wizard" will show a password required window (the above-mentioned figure) while installation of client digital certificate, you must place a check in the box "Mark this key as exportable. This will allow you to back up or transport your keys at a later time." (If you forget to place a check here, you will NOT proceed to auto-setup a client digital certificate on the e-Parcel software.)

  8. 8. After completed to install a client digital certificate on Windows (IE), proceed to auto-setup.

    For users of VCN-CommCenter 7.0: Double-click the "e-Parcel 7.0" shortcut icon on your desktop.

    (If the VCN-CommCenter GUI opened, access the menu bar "Tools" > "Auto Setup".)

    For users of VCN-AX 4.0 : Right-click the e-Parcel notification area icon on the taskbar to open the pop-up menu. Select the "Automatic Setup" menu.

    * For Windows: If the e-Parcel notification area icon will not be shown on the Windows taskbar, click the arrow next to the notification area on the taskbar. (Or, access the Windows Start menu > Control Panel > Appearance and Personalization > "Customize icons on the taskbar") In the pane "Notifications Area Icons" of Windows taskbar, select the "VCN-AX Manager [e-Parcel VCN-AX]" from the list and then change this setting to the "Show icon and notifications".

    * For Windows 10: If the e-Parcel notification area icon will not be shown on the Windows taskbar, right-click on the taskbar then select the "Taskbar settings" from the menus appeared. (Or, access the Windows Start menu > Windows System > Control Panel > Taskbar and Navigation) In the pane "Taskbar", locate the "Notifications Area", click on the "Select which icons appear on the taskbar". The "VCN-AX Manager [e-Parcel VCN-AX]" will be listed. Change this setting to "On"

  9. 9. Auto-setup will start here. If a "Choose a digital certificate" dialog box appears, locate your certificate and click the "OK" button to auto-setup.

  10. 10. The e-Parcel software is starting after your auto-setup is successfully completed.

  11. All procedures for exchanging with SHA1 signed digital certificate are completed.
