Question? How can I edit my e-Parcel ID which is currently used through the e-Parcel service?

Answer Upon your request, we usually edit the existing e-Parcel ID registered. After that, you will be required to exchange your e-Parcel client digital certificate imported in Windows and then auto-setup it on the e-Parcel software in a same computer.

In the case of editing the existing e-Parcel ID, it can recover the existing inbox/outbox histories and settings on the e-Parcel software in a same computer. The following steps will guide you.

* In the case of registering another new e-Parcel ID and exchanging ID for new one, it cannot recover the existing inbox/outbox histories and settings. The following steps also will guide you.

* Unless there is some particular reason, we usually register your e-mail address as an e-Parcel ID for using the e-Parcel secure data delivery service. In addition, the e-Parcel ID works only through the e-Parcel service. The e-Parcel ID is not compatible with any e-mail applications. Although if your e-mail address is changed, it doesn't affect any data delivery by using the e-Parcel software. However, it may affect some services such as the e-mail notification upon online password request. So, it is recommended that you request of a system administrator in your company or the e-Parcel Customer Support by e-mail (support@e-parcel.co.jp) to edit the existing e-Parcel ID registered.

1 Inquiry about the existing e-Parcel ID
  1. Upon your request, we usually edit the existing e-Parcel ID registered.

    * If you want to register another new e-Parcel ID and exchange ID for new one, we also register new e-Parcel ID.

  2. * Attention: Please be advised that you should start the following procedures after uploading and downloading data have been confirmed on the e-Parcel software in a computer.

    * Attention: In the case of editing the existing e-Parcel ID, please note that sending and receiving data through the e-Parcel service is temporally suspended for the operational reason of ID edited until you complete to auto-setup new certificate on the e-Parcel software.

  3. 1. Contact the e-Parcel Customer Support by e-mail with both your previous e-Parcel ID and new e-Parcel ID specified.

    * We are afraid that the e-Parcel Customer Support will reply to you by e-mail in our business hours (Mon - Fri 9:00 - 17:00JST).

    * Depending on the contract, some customers may need to request of a system administrator in a company in advance.

  4. 2. When registration completed, you will get the notification by e-mail.

    Proceed to the next procedures below. You are required to exchange your e-Parcel client digital certificate imported in Windows and then auto-setup it on the e-Parcel software.

2 Remove the previous client digital certificate from Windows
  1. First, on your computer, remove the previous client digital certificate installed (imported) in Windows. Take the procedures below.

  2. 1. To remove a certificate using the Windows interface, select the Windows "Start" menu > Windows System >
    Control Panel > Network and Internet > "Internet Options".

    The "Internet Properties (Internet Options)" dialog is opened. Select the "Content" tab and then click the "Certificates" button in the Certificates category.

    Launch Microsoft Edge. On the upper-right of Toolbar, click […] (Settings and more) > Settings (gear mark) > Privacy, search, services > Security > Manage certificates

  3. 2. The "Certificates" dialog is opened. Select the "Personal" tab and find out the previous certificate listed.

    ·The "Issued To" column: Your previous e-Parcel ID

    ·The "Issued By" column: e-Parcel Global Service Authority

  4. 3. When selected carefully, click the "Remove" button. If the "Certificates" dialog shows warning, choose "Yes" to execute.

  5. 4. To close the Windows interface, click the "Close" button on the "Certificates" dialog and click the "OK" button on the "Internet Properties (Internet Options)" dialog.

3 Install new client digital certificate in Windows
  1. Next, download and install (import) your new client digital certificate in Windows.

  2. 1. Click the button just below to start the procedures.

    * The detailed instructions of each step will be shown in figures at the "Download Client Certificates" page of this site.

    * When installing (importing) the digital certificate in Windows, you must sign in Windows with a user account which runs the e-Parcel client software.

  3. 2. The [STEP1. Login] page: Type your new e-Parcel ID and password, and then click the "Login" button.

  4. 3. The [STEP2. Confirm your e-Parcel client software] Page: Select one of the e-Parcel client software appropriately.

  5. 4. The [STEP3. Check the security of this site …] page: When you confirm the security of this site which is being visited, click the "Next" button.

  6. 5. The [STEP4. Download and install a client digital certificate] Page: Click the "Download" button, and then select the "Open" a file.

    * If you use a previousrelease software; VCN-CommCenter 7.0.7014 or earlier / VCN-AX 4.0.4005 or earlier, click the "Cert for previous versions" button.
    (Note that updating the e-Parcel software is highly recommended.)

    On the STEP4, to import the digital certificate, carefully read the "Instruction for installing Client Digital Certificate" in figures.

    ! Note: Please be sure to read below.

    While the "Certificate Import Wizard", when it requires the password, be sure to place a check in the "Mark this key as exportable ..." checkbox.
    (If do not, you will fail in auto-setup on the e-Parcel software at later STEP6.)

  7. 6. The [STEP5. Access the URL of e-Parcel Secure Enterprise …] Page: To proceed to STEP6, click the "Next" button on the bottom.

4 Auto-setup new client digital certificate on the e-Parcel software
  1. To auto-setup on the e-Parcel software will automatically attempt to detect new client digital certificate and your network settings from Windows.

  2. 1. The [STEP6. Auto-setup the e-Parcel client software] Page: To auto-setup a new digital certificate installed in Windows, select the menu below on the e-Parcel client software.

    * At the beginning of auto-setup, if the "Confirm Certificate" or the "Select a Certificate" dialog appears, confirm your new e-Parcel ID, select a correct digital certificate, and then click the "OK" button. it will begin to auto-setup.
    [For Windows 10 or later] Click "More choices" on the "Select a Certificate" dialog to view all certificates. Then, select one.

    [For e-Parcel VCN-CommCenter 7.0 or later]

    To start the software, double-click the "e-Parcel x.x" shortcut icon on the desktop.

    On the VCN-CommCenter GUI, select the menu "Tools" > "Auto Setup".

    [For e-Parcel VCN-AX 4.0 or later]

    On Windows taskbar, in the notification area, right-click the icon "e-Parcel VCN-AX x.x", then select "Auto Setup" from pop-up menu.

    * For Windows 10 or later: If Windows does not show the e-Parcel icon in the notification area on the taskbar, right-click on the taskbar, then select "Taskbar settings" from menu. (Or, select the Windows "Start" menu > Windows System > Control Panel > Appearance and Personalization > Taskbar and Navigation) On the Settings "Taskbar" window, under "Notifications Area", click "Select which icons appear on the taskbar". The icons list is displayed. Turn on the "VCN-AX Manager x.x" toggle to apply change to "On".

    * For Windows 8 or earlier: If Windows does not show the e-Parcel icon in the notification area on the taskbar, click the arrow next to the notification area on the taskbar. (Or, select the Windows "Start" menu > Control Panel > Appearance and Personalization > "Customize icons on the taskbar") On the "Notifications Area Icons" dialog, change the "VCN-AX Manager x.x" to "Show icon and notifications" as the behavior.

  3. 2. When auto-setup complete, confirm that the e-Parcel software shows the system status "Online".

    (For VCN-AX, if Windows does not start the service "e-Parcel VCN-AX x.x", restart the service using the Windows interface.)

    * If the status is "Offline", "Proxy Authentication Failed" or any other error status on the client software, refer to this Q&A page and check carefully.

  4. 3. At last, confirm that new e-Parcel ID has been correctly displayed on the e-Parcel software.

    In the case of editing the existing e-Parcel ID, also confirm that the previous histories and settings have been recovered on the e-Parcel software in a same computer.

    [For VCN-CommCenter 7.0 or later]

    Confirm that new e-Parcel ID has been correctly displayed in the tree view on the upper-left pane of VCN-CommCenter GUI.

    [For VCN-AX 4.0 or later]

    Open the VCN-AX Management Console, click the menu Authorization > Credential, and then confirm that new e-Parcel ID has been correctly displayed in the field.

  5. * For e-Parcel VCN-CommCenter 7.0 or later

    In the case of registering another new e-Parcel ID and exchanging ID for new one, be sure to disable the previous e-Parcel ID displayed in the tree view on the upper-left pane of VCN-CommCenter GUI.

    To disable the existing e-Parcel ID on the VCN-CommCenter GUI which you use no longer, right-click the existing e-Parcel ID next to the certificate icon on the folder tree (inbox and outbox), and then select the "Disable this ID" from the pop-up menu.

  6. All procedures are completed. The e-Parcel client software is ready for use with new e-Parcel ID.
